Design
Industrial Associates, Inc. and Bronco pioneered the direct drive airless shot blast wheel in the early 1980’s. Our standard 12”, 15” and 16” diameter, 3600 RPM wheel assemblies are the most powerful built to date and clean twice as fast as the 24”, 1800 RPM designs or 19-½” belt driven designs of the past. Bronco direct drive blast wheels can reduce cycle times by 50% or more.
Retro-Fit
Increase productivity and reduce overall operating costs by retrofitting your existing machine. Our compact 12”, 15” and 16” direct drive wheel assemblies easily retrofit to existing machines and will reduce maintenance costs.
Cleaning Power
Higher velocity means faster cleaning. Bronco direct drive blast wheels throw abrasive at 245-325 feet per second, yielding the fastest line speeds and shortest cycle times in the industry – all with a lower abrasive flow rate per minute than other similar designs. This prevents unnecessary wear on the material handling systems and consumes less abrasive per blasting hour.
Wheel Housing
Bronco blast wheel housings are built using ½” 11-14% manganese steel and lined with heavy, cast interlocking liners for extended wear life.
Wheels
The 12”, 15” and 16” Bronco direct drive blast wheels are single sided and 8 bladed with dead-end dovetail slots for blade retention, eliminating springs, retaining rings, pins, blade blocks and other unnecessary parts that increase maintenance costs, affect motor bearing life and create potential vibration problems. All wheels are bi-directional (CW or CCW) and use the same standard wheel parts.
Motors
Energy efficient Baldor motors “C” face mount to the wheel housing and bolt directly into a recessed flange ring, ensuring proper alignment of the wheel parts upon reassembly. The overhung shaft loads are far less than traditional foot mount designs, substantially reducing the risk of motor bearing failure.
Maintenance
All housings are designed with a front access plate, allowing for a complete wheel and hub replacement in less than two hours, saving the user substantial maintenance man-hours.
