The tumble blast design is the most cost effective solution for batch deburring, descaling and deflashing of castings, forgings, die castings and automotive parts. Our machines are fully integrated blast systems that are designed for ease of installation and operation and require minimal floor space. Tumble blasts gently tumble the parts to be cleaned in a blast chamber formed by an endless rubber mill belt. Parts are exposed to the blast stream as they tumble in the chamber. Heavy-duty 3 and 4 ply belt designs can handle heavy loads while assuring a tight fitting blast chamber, allowing small parts to be cleaned that otherwise may jam or wedge in traditional steel conveyor belt machines.
The cubic foot capacity of the machine refers to the actual volume of parts that can be processed when put loosely in the chamber. Total volume may vary, depending on part shape and dimensions.
Though a batch operation, the machine may be fully automated with loading systems and take away conveyors. For example, in-line, with die cast trim presses, punch presses or heat treat lines.
Typical blast times run 3-5 minutes for heat treat scale, 3-7 minutes for forging scale and 3-4 minutes for die cast or stamped parts.
